Virtual Camino - the final pilgrimage

On Friday 4 September we walked our pilgrimage to Durham as originally planned, gathering at the Angel of the North, and walking from Chester-le-Street to Durham Cathedral along Cuddy's Corse.

Our route began at St Mary and St Cuthbert, Chester-le-Street, through Lumley (where you can see in the distance the Angel behind you, and Durham Cathedral in front of you!), the beautiful Finchale Priory ruins, and finally on to Durham Cathedral, the great Shrine of St Cuthbert.

Watch the video and follow us on our final journey to end our virtual Camino, as we reflect on pilgrimage and food poverty.

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed in any way. This is a tremendous achievement.

Our totals are:

3226 miles

£2088

We're leaving the JustGiving page up for a few more days, so if you're able to support us, please do.

Here's our final map - there are some great places to discover around Gateshead, marked on the map, including some country parks that are lots of fun for the family. If you click on each red spot, it'll bring up the information from Google.

It's been wonderful to see many people take an interest in what we've been doing. The Diocese of Durham wrote an article on our pilgrimage, and Revd Alex will be talking to BBC Newcastle live on Sunday 6 September, at 7.50 am.
